[Weekly Retro] Fears and opportunities

#266 - Oct.2025

Weekly Retro is a short e-mail with a wrap-up of ideas from the week, interesting links I found, and food for thought before you head off for the weekend.

Happy Friday!

Reporting back after a period away from posting.

I’m writing these words from Buenos Aires, Argentina, where I spent the week talking with customers at an AWS Retail event about managing digital products and, in particular, the role of Product Managers in the age of AI.

These interactions are such rich experiences as you start to understand how challenges (and fears) are common across companies, regardless of size and complexity.

Changing the mindset from command-based to intent-based interactions in products is not trivial. Production-ready solutions are slowly gaining traction, but there is still a long way ahead. How to measure productivity created by AI is not straightforward. How AI will change us as humans is extremely subjective.

Is a mix of fears and opportunity. How you engage with this reality will make a difference. You can take it as a threat and push back against the change or you can take it as an opportunity to explore, learn and iterate. Everyone is taking a decision today.

These are interesting times. Such a potential ahead of us waiting for builders and curious people to generate the next wave of world’s prosperity. For everyone!
