Trust triangle

Trust is at the core of almost everything we do - including product value propositions.

A value proposition is not only a promise about what you are committing to deliver but is a social contract built on trust. If you are selling a new product to a market or pitching a new idea inside your company, trust is one of your most important currencies.

The "Trust Triangle" is always a good reminder of what core things to consider:

  1. Being authentic (showing your real self; yes, including your limitations)
  2. Being logical (your reasoning makes sense and is supported by evidence)
  3. Having empathy (truly understanding and caring about others' needs)

When trust is broken, it is usually due to the lack of one of these 3 things.
