#281 - May.2026

***Weekly Retro** **is a short e-mail with a wrap-up of ideas from the week, interesting links I found, and food for thought before you head off for the weekend.*

Happy Friday!

Here is a quick idea for the weekend:

My beliefs on **Creativity** 💡:

1. Creativity is **innate** to humans. All kids are creatives.
2. We lose our creative drive as we become **adults** since we start caring about what others think about us.
3. Losing the creative drive is a **personal decision**. You can change that.
4. Takes a while to find your best **medium** to express your creativity. Worth testing many options.
5. **Curiosity** is the fuel for creativity. If you don't seek, you won't find the signals.
6. Creativity cannot be measured with success metrics. Is not a goal, is a **journey**.
7. The biggest **blocker** for creativity is not taking the first step to act/build.

### 📖 Article I've been thinking about

[Multi-disciplinary artist Jack Rusher on the need to sustain your creative drive in the face of technological change – The Creative IndependentMulti-disciplinary artist Jack Rusher discusses habit as excellence, what scientists and artists have in common, and the influence of AI on creativity.![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/10/f4/10f4a52f-1b7d-4284-b66d-0fccfd9dc5da/content/images/icon/apple-icon-114x114-b89cebe8692f0010e4435b062bef44293d5dcd64046cc1481be78185eca08006.png)Rebecca Hiscott![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/10/f4/10f4a52f-1b7d-4284-b66d-0fccfd9dc5da/content/images/thumbnail/ADO8yNUTFGnCu5tCdEzl-9377721f7c4855350f6ef24da50f69f15be01b58b2f4b736247de91954d646ec)](https://thecreativeindependent.com/people/multi-disciplinary-artist-jack-rusher-on-the-need-to-sustain-your-creative-drive-in-the-face-of-technological-change/?ref=cesarrg.com)

Jack Rusher talks about what scientists and artists share in common. The part about AI and creativity is very interesting: he doesn't see AI as a threat to creative expression. Worth the read.

### ✉️ Long-form post on Creativity

[Imagination, curiosity, and courageCreativity isn’t just for artists - it’s for everyone.![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/10/f4/10f4a52f-1b7d-4284-b66d-0fccfd9dc5da/content/images/icon/IMG_2210-eca24ce7259a62d1d49735e8be0bcd4532117f7c91b6866c2eaa5d2464c17196.png)César RodríguezCésar Rodríguez![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/10/f4/10f4a52f-1b7d-4284-b66d-0fccfd9dc5da/content/images/thumbnail/Artboard-6-1-8c894448021e8bf442a74ffc7732b6c410f5ca9313dd446b459205ec39da701a.png)](https://www.cesarrg.com/imagination-curiosity-courage/)

If the main idea this week resonated, this long-form piece goes deeper on the three ingredients of creativity: imagination, curiosity, and courage.
