The earlier you are in the discovery journey, the less effort you should invest in your prototype.

I often see teams creating detailed, high-fidelity prototypes to validate concepts that are still taking shape. This slows you down.

At the early stage, you're exploring possibilities. You don’t want too much constraints. You have a [seed of an idea](https://www.cesarrg.com/ideas/) but don't know how it will materialize. You need speed of validation, not details. A simple paper and pen prototype (yes, not joking) is one of your most powerful tools.

Detailed prototypes come later—when you've narrowed your possibilities and want to explore specific experiences or features. At this point, you're optimizing for quality feedback on refined ideas.
